My job requires me to be involved in the entire software lifecycle process, from an initial application idea through the production release and post release support. When I am assigned to a project for a new web/mobile application, I contact the customer to gather requirements, create a requirements document, create a wireframe and screen mockups, and then create the actual application based on those. We do not have a dedicated testing department or team, so I am also required to facilitate testing and draw up test plans. Once put into production, I then become the main contact for any support needed for that application. I can have 5 or more of these projects assigned to me at the same time so being able to prioritize and having some level of project management skills is also required. If the application requires a back end database, I am also responsible for the creation and design of that database.I am also required for four weeks out of the year to receive any support tickets that are submitted for my team through the help desk and to handle those. That from time to time requires me to investigate issues with an application that is owned by someone else on my team that I know very little, if anything, about and to then fix that issue. Show less
