I engage and connect with guests to better understand their needs. I provide technical product education by explaining the value and benefit of the product, and provide customized recommendations. I contribute to an inclusive team environment to ensure a supportive experience for all team members and guests.

During my time as Key Leader I supported the ongoing learning and development of team members by providing honest and timely feedback, coaching and mentoring. This involved providing recognition, gap assessment and performance documentation to support their career and personal growth. As a Key Leader I utilized key performance indicators to prioritize goals and communicate progress towards these goals so I could maintain efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

I provide communications counsel to fellow team members, as well as all those who work, learn and volunteer at Providence Care – from Senior Leadership and the Board of Directors, to frontline clinical and support staff. I design and implement strategic communications plans to develop engaging, high-quality content across a variety of platforms to help the organization build its brand, achieve its strategic directions, and facilitate greater public awareness of Providence Care's programs, sites and services. I am responsible for executing tactical communications on behalf of the organization including contentious issue management, media relations, internal communications, digital media management, newsletter production, government and community relations and strategy development. I work to identify interesting and newsworthy content through conversations with internal stakeholders and external health care partners that informs Providence Care’s diverse audiences.

I provided training and orientation to approximately 300 community volunteers in preparation for the move to Providence Care Hospital. I worked closely with the operational readiness, redevelopment and planning, and training and orientation teams to facilitate the planning and delivery of this training. Through my efforts in this role over 900 hours of training and orientation was completed by volunteers. In addition, I trained a team of tour guides who volunteered over 120 hours to support community open houses and led approximately 300 staff members on tours of the new facility.

Upon obtaining this position I completed positive space training and familiarized myself with appropriate policies and procedures surrounding the job. I acted as a liaison between different groups on campus such as the Anti-Violence Network, the Students Health Education Centre, and Human Rights and Equity Services, and participated in meetings with said groups. A large part of my job entailed planning and participating in different advocacy campaigns on campus and in the community including, but not limited to, the Gender Matters Conference and the End Violence Against Women Campaign. Lastly, as the Gender and Equity Committee Coordinator I promoted the importance of inclusive spaces both on and off-campus.

As the Orientation Week Coordinator for the Faculty of Social Sciences at McMaster University I interviewed, hired, and trained a team of over one-hundred students for the position of Orientation Week Representative. I lead these student representatives in health and safety exercises as well as team bonding events both prior to and throughout the week. This position also entailed that I create a detailed budget of all expenses for the week and stay within this budget when renting equipment and facilities, ordering clothing, and paying for other miscellaneous expenses. I completed health and safety documents for the events planned during the week and was in constant contact with Faculty Liaisons and other university administration. As Orientation Week Coordinator I also planned events to raise money for Shinerama, our faculty successfully raising over $10,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Research. Lastly, I wrote a detailed transition report for the following year’s Coordinator.
