The Business School has one of the largest placement programmes at the University of Kent and I have been a key member in this development and implementation process. This includes organising placement workshops, participating in the delivery of workshops and providing support to students, with advice on CV and application preparation. Part of my role is to support students and explain the importance and the commitment required to find and undertake a Year in Industry placement, thereby increasing employability skills to ensure graduate employment. Liaising with employers and students whilst on placement to ensure all criteria are met and to build on existing relationships with employers to ensure ‘repeat business’ for our students.Kent Business School at the University of Kent has campuses in Canterbury and Medway. We currently have over 200 students completing their degrees in business, international business both with a marketing element and accounting & finance, who have chosen to undertake a "Year in Industry" which takes place in their third year and is an integral part of the four year 'sandwich' programme. We have bright and innovative students who are now actively seeking a placement opportunity. Students usually start their placements anytime between the end of June and September and should last a minimum of 44 weeks.For many companies, this is an ideal opportunity to discover new talent or to staff one-year projects by tapping into an international pool of dynamic students who have already gained a consolidated knowledge and understanding of current business issues.
