Managing a team of technical specialists and engineers who cover all aspects of infrastructure - Solaris and Windows servers, VMware, storage, Oracle and SQL databases, networks (Cisco and Juniper), VOIP. This role involves workload planning for the team, monitoring of budgets, development and management of staff alongside communicating with colleagues within ICT, the business and third parties. Additionally it involves project management of upgrades and implementations of infrastructure technologies.

Working on the team to support the server infrastructure for the organisation. This included application installations and upgrades, server installations, security administration and troubleshooting to fix problems and incidents.I also previously did a fixed term contract here to implement Active Directory within the organisation August 2004 - May 2006. This was a complex project that saw the creation of a Windows 2003 Active Directory forest and the migration of users and resources from numerous NT4 domains. I was responsible for the project management, design and implementation. I worked closely with colleagues within the team and the wider unit to successfully migrate all of council users and their associated servers from their NT4 domains into a single Windows 2003 infrastructure.

Working on a small team that was responsible for all Intel servers within Europe and the Middle East. This covered more than 20 sites, each having a number of servers located at the offices. I was heavily involved in the rollout of Active Directory and Exchange 2003 at all sites which included migrating each site from Lotus cc:Mail.There was also involvement in rolling out software to the desktops and offering additional third line support to the desktop team. It was a challenging role that allowed me to develop a wide range of technical skills.
