Joined BHF in 1997, at the time of leaving BHF in March 2016 (voluntary redundancy) I was Head of Influencing and Engagement with a UK wide remit leading a team of 32 regionally home based staff; leading and managing a team through change to engage and influence commissioners and service providers across the UK, to deliver best practice around CVD to ensure the best possible outcomes for those with, or at risk of developing, CVD; enabling and promoting outcomes based commissioning.Leading stakeholder engagement nationally and across regions to maximise engagement and impact of BHF and CVD best practice.Taking a systems leadership approach working collaboratively with colleagues across BHFAlso has a keen interest in Public Health with a degree in Health Promotion and attained a post grad diploma in Public Health from Cardiff Univesity.Over the years at BHF I was involved in supporting the development of Heart Support Groups, managed and led a variety of funded projects and prorammes on behalf of BHF such as Familial Hyperlipidaemia in Wales, Cardiac rehabilitation and primary prevention initiatives via the BHF Hearty Lives programme, and the development and introduction of the BHF CVD clinical co-ordinator post aimed at supporting primary care; I worked closely with policy colleagues to ensure BHF were able to influence government leads on issues relating to CVD. Leading the evaluation of a variety of initiatives with key academic and NHS partners.
