My career in the Civil Service was long and varied, both in physical location and job role, from processing subsidy claims from local farmers in North Yorkshire to managing and implementing new telecoms and network services in Devon.In 2004 I moved into IBM where I discovered I had a very good eye for deciphering contractual SLA's and delivering these to the client to a very high standard. This was done by analysing data, proactively managing and fixing the root cause of failures, providing education to remote technical teams and ensuring accountability.My time with IBM was exceptionally successful, and I developed a number of business strategies through process control and management with a focus on streamlining and making efficiencies.In 2014 I took redundancy - life in IBM no longer inspired me - and I set up Vanguard Communications along with my husband. This was a totally different lifestyle with a large learning curve, however I thoroughly enjoyed learning about new industries like marketing, copywriting, websites and SEO (still a bit of a dark art!) and meeting new people, many of whom helped me on a personal basis.More recently I have branched into the bookkeeping world and the reason for this is that I had a lightbulb moment where I discovered that I had a love for all things analytical - managing SLA's and reducing Service Credits in IBM, managing multi-million pound Capital and Consultancy budgets in Defra, managing small business accounts in Vanguard - they all had one thing in common...data analysis.So Aqua Digital Bookkeeping was born, allowing me to fulfil my passion for this industry whilst helping businesses make efficiencies through online cloud accounting.Outside of work, I am a personal taxi driver, parent and professional spectator to a competitive national swimmer, so you will often find me 'networking' online during the 5am training sessions.I am also the proud owner of 3 British Shorthair cats, and 2 gorgeous little Shelties.
