Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada with 1400 employees with locations in 11 countries, Methanex is the largest manufacturer and supplier of methanol, a clean burning fuel and essential ingredient in everyday materials.Originally hired in this new role to organize the day-to-day needs of the Executive Office including CEO travel and roadshow bookings, calendar management and employee communications (CEO blog), the Business Services portfolio was then transferred over to the Executive Office where we manage the Vancouver office operations. In my eight-year tenure, my role has grown and evolved based on the priorities of the company. Project and communications lead for any office and/or IT implementations, travel portfolio and global subscriptions. Manages office-wide corporate events.Successfully completed the office renovation (over 35,600 SQF) and move-in during the first year of the COVID pandemic and was a key member of the Office Renovation Project Steering Committee.

Located across three campuses, the Beedie School of Business currently has over 3400 students in the undergraduate and graduate programs along with a growing alumni population (9000+).As the sole events person in the External Relations department, organized over 150 meetings and events for the School in the first year of the newly created role. This portfolio includes alumni reunions in Vancouver and Toronto, sponsored events such as CKNW’s The Chief Executive Series on The Bill Good Show and also, public lectures for five Research Centres.Responsible for the entire event cycle including event invitations, promotions, registration, budget and post-event evaluations.Acted as the Events Manager for any Beedie-sponsored events held at the Segal Graduate School in downtown Vancouver – from writing contracts to booking meeting room space, finalizing the catering menu to reconciling payment.Integral in the overall alumni engagement strategy including planning of various alumni outreach projects and database management.

Events organized include: large-scale conferences (Community Foundations of Canada with President Bill Clinton / St. Paul’s Hospital CME Conference with over 1100+ registrants), sold-out galas (The Vancouver Board of Trade Governors’ Banquet and Rix Center Awards) and monthly learning workshops for a local non-profit association (EO Vancouver).Built foundation of event from sourcing venue, negotiating contracts and compiling brochure to marketing the event, on-site set-up and management.Corresponded with over 100 speakers for the St. Paul’s Hospital CME Conference including email reminders, collecting speaker presentations & syllabus plus on-site troubleshooting.Liaised with companies for solicitation, i.e. selling exhibit space and/or sponsorship plus cold calling for silent auction requests.

The Broadcast Integration department was the bridge between VANOC and Olympic Broadcasting Services Vancouver (OBSV) in delivering all broadcast-related services during the 2010 Winter Games, serving over 20 international rights-holding broadcasters and 8000+ personnel.Fulfilled VANOC’s contractual obligations to OBSV with respect to logistical, technical and overlay broadcasting requirements.Responsible for day-to-day broadcast planning leading up to Games Time including annual World Broadcaster Meetings and venue surveys.Integrated OBSV with relevant departments in VANOC and established timelines to achieve the optimum broadcast of the Games.Developed project plans and managed the sport event portfolio where OBSV tested their broadcast needs at 15+ World Cup-level events (in 2009).Managed two City Coordinators for the duration of the Olympic Games and remained as part of the Paralympic staff.

This co-ed 30,000 square foot aquatic and fitness facility is located in the downtown core with a membership of over 2800 people. Managed all events in the facility from the initial planning to the evaluation including member retention initiatives, team challenges and referral contests.Evaluated and guided the marketing direction of the Centre including website, displays and signage. Liaised with graphic designers, printers and suppliers.Diversified portfolio by managing the “Sundays with Mom” pilot project and “Camp Fun Girl” summer day camp program including program evaluation, budget, expenses and debriefs.
