My career is varied, but each branch comes with depth of experience: Orchestral performance, academia, marketing, arts organization/event management, non-profit consulting, visual art, graphic design, web design, SEO, SMO, real estate investing, and real estate agency for others. I love managing complex projects that have a clearly defined outcome or culminating event. Researching, writing, planning, and marketing have been an asset and pleasure in every phase of my career. As a professional musician, I am a tenured bassoonist/contrabassoonist with the Mississippi Symphony. As a visual artist, I am a fellow member of The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi. See examples from my portfolio at elainemaisel.comThe Mississippi Arts Commission recruited me in 2012 as an independent contractor and I have continued to work with them on specific special initiatives which include implementing the Carnegie Hall Link Up program, reviewing and managing grantees, maintaining internal compliance for the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), managing the distribution of the FY22 American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding, and managing Mississippi's multi-million dollar Building Fund for the Arts. I renovate and resell homes, with a focus on taking distressed, vacant rental properties and bringing them to quality FHA standards to put them back into the hands of homeowners. My Realtor’s license hangs with eXp Realty in Ridgeland, MS Office: 601-455-0101. I am also experienced brokering in foreclosure and probate situations where my attention to detail, communication, kindness, research, and negotiation skills shine. Reviews are at realtor.comI served on the board of the Starkville Area Arts Council, which has included my work as the ED of the Magnolia Independent Film Festival. I am a board member of Local 579 of the American Federation of Musicians. I have also served on the board of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi and the Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra. During graduate school, I directed the UNCG Early Music Ensemble, Administrated two different international academic music conferences, and was the personnel manager/librarian of the Hartt School orchestra. Nonprofit administration has been an on going thread through my whole career. I served as an assistant professor at Mississippi State University. Ask for a complete list of my publications, courses, conference presentations, and for grants I have been awarded to support my work in academia. For fun, follow the adventures of #HonchoPonchoDonkey on my personal Instagram @elainemaisel.
