I studied teaching English through conceptual understanding by using drama techniques gathered over thirty years experience of teaching and performing. I gathered and collated the data to further explore the emotional responses to information in relation to cultural and environmental influences.

Devised an Independent Living and Budget Management course for Adults with Learning Difficulties. Assessments, schemes of work, target setting.This client group suffer greatly from stress which is not generally accepted or understood, ergo, leading to more stress. The techniques I employed to help this type of client allowed me to diversify and explore new ways of handling stress.

I visit schools and colleges throughout the UK for the Learning Performance Limited Company delivering a power-point presentation to students on a variety of educational needs. This includes Employment and Enterprise, Learning Strategies, Writing Curriculum Vitae, Interview techniques, memory skills and motivation. A large component of the workshop has increasingly become focused on stress, how to recognize it, embrace it and how to make it work for you.

I worked with adults with Learning Difficulties, using Drama with Therapeutic Intervention. I devised pieces of dramatic performance highlighting the political implications of government legislation regarding people with learning difficulties.

Since 1990 I have worked in the teaching, therapy and performing industries. My experience is eclectic and has taken me to weird and wonderful places, peppering my life with a wide range of memories. My thirst for knowledge ensures that I continue my own brand of professional development, always the student, in my pursuit of life-long learning.

Actress for touring Theatre-in-Education company. Led short workshops with participating schools with group of children who then performed in the show. Managed the settling of payment, petty cash and basic stage-management duties.
