About Elaine Chen

As an entrepreneurship educator and corporate innovation consultant, I am passionate about helping each and every person develop an entrepreneurial mindset and skillset. I believe this can help people become more successful in their work and studies, wherever their careers may take them.Over the past 13 years, first at MIT and now at Tufts, I worked with people at all stages in their professional journeys. Some will go on to found great companies. Others will join startups. Still others will build successful careers in an existing organization. Learning to become entrepreneurial helps them understand their own ability to be flexible and adaptable, to learn and iterate, and above all, to feel confident that while they may not have all the answers, they will figure it out along the way - and everything will work out. I know this from personal experience. Having been a serial entrepreneur in high tech with 22 patents from six companies, the one thing that was consistent was that unforeseen situations are the norm and not the exception. An entrepreneurial mindset helped my coworkers and I survive and thrive after each crisis and come out stronger on the other side. I bring this insight to my students and my clients, guiding them to believe in their own potential to build powerful solutions that have true impact. In addition to teaching and consulting, I am also a keynote speaker and author. I cover topics spanning innovation, entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship, technology trends and more. I have extensive international experience, particularly in the Asia-Pacific area. Do reach out if you think I can help you in any way.Specialties: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Disciplined Entrepreneurship, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Corporate Innovation, Lean Startup, Customer Development, Primary Market Research, Product Strategy, Product Development, Engineering Management, Enterprise Software, Robotics, Haptics, Connected Devices, IoT, System Architecture and Design, Strategic Planning, Corporate Training
