In this role, I am a co-designer on a team of innovators developing a guiding framework for truth telling and justice doing in the child welfare/family policing system space. We are creating a process where those that have touched the system, whether impacted persons or service providers, can safely and bravely share their experiences and ideas for transformative and equitable change. Communities are supported to implement and process of truth telling that fits their needs, and are further supported to create action agendas to advocate for practice and policy change.Other key responsibilities include communication and coordination with advisory committees and pilot communities; creation of project assets for dissemination (i.e. brochure, PowerPoint, video); writing core project materials and grant proposals; website design and copywriting

Provided ongoing case management to families with open Dependency and Neglect cases; created treatment plans and supported parents to successfully address child protection concerns. In this role I was very active in supporting families to and through reunification

• Engaged in tasks to support research and evaluation operations for various projects related to service provision, satisfaction of workers/caregivers, permanency of children, etc. throughout child welfare systems in the United States• Abided by ethical research practices and IRB outlines as related to conducting research/evaluations utilizing human subjects and telework practices• Conducted literature reviews to collect, assess, and disseminate existing research and knowledge to inform projects and stakeholders of relevant research, outcomes, and recommendations for improved interventions• Conducted analyses and dissemination of collected data for reporting and assisted with writing and editing of implementation and evaluation reports for distribution; included coding of quantitative and qualitative data• Participated in conceptualization meetings with advisory board members to co-design implementation models• Participated in evaluation and implementation planning for projects in earlier stages to develop theories of change and methods of intervention based on the needs of the contract agency and its clients• Ensured effective communication and collaboration as needed throughout project to ensure goals are being met, updates are provided to parties, and any issues may be resolved

As a Social Worker for the Department of Children and Families, I provided on-going case management to families in and around the Roxbury area of Boston. In this position, I formulated comprehensive clinical assessments working with families and children to identify needs and areas for growth, and provided case management to families using an action plan to work toward stabilization or reunification. I attended permanency hearing, foster care reviews, and facilitated placement for children in the custody of the Department, and worked hand in hand with several collaterals to provide families with services, clothing, camp, and other basic needs.

The EVA Center is focused on providing services to women trying to exit the sex trade. These women have been caught up in prostitution and sex trafficking, and this center provides assistance by any means necessary to aid in this process, whether that be financial support, education, housing, or employment opportunities.As a member of a research team, I worked with the EVA Center to collect data to record and further analyze. The aim of the research we conducted was to take a look into the variety of risk factors a woman may experience in childhood that may make one more susceptible to getting involved in the sex trafficking trade. Our work was displayed in a presentation on April 27, 2015 at the John Adams Courthouse in Boston, where we presented our findings to many people from the local government as well as others interested in our research.
