Editor In ChiefThe Vitruvian Newspaper Aug 2020 - Jun 2022I was selected as Editor-in-Chief for two consecutive years. The summer before COVID (my first year as Chief Editor), I developed The Vitruvian into a fully functional online publication, transforming it from a print-only school newspaper (www.humanitiesthevitruvian.com). By initiating grammar/editing workshops in conjunction with the efficiencies resulting from the new system and platform, I successfully transformed the paper’s distribution, reach and reputation, all as we functioned remotely. Our staff has tripled in size since I became its leader and we increased from two to five issues per year. Our readership quickly expand beyond Hamilton’s immediate community to around the globe, now reaching people in 18 states and 8 different countries. These initiatives renewed the professionalism of the paper and the Humanities Magnet component of our high school. The online platform now acts as a bridge connecting students and our alumni network where there’d never been one before. The Humanities Magnet school now uses the platform to showcase our students’ art and talent to prospective new families.

Student InternBeverly Hills Physicians Jun 2021 - Sep 2021Beverly Hills, California, United StatesAs a Surgical Student Intern at Beverly Hills Physicians, I gained extensive hands-on experience and deepened my understanding of various surgical procedures. During my internship, I had the opportunity to observe a wide variety of surgeries, including a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, liposuctions, fat transfers, bilateral macromastia, and facial lipodystrophy. This exposure provided me with valuable insights into plastic surgery, bariatric surgery, anesthesia administration, and pain management. I acquired general knowledge in medical terminology, enhancing my ability to engage effectively in a clinical environment. Additionally, I developed strong networking skills by interacting with board-certified physicians across different fields and specialties, forming meaningful connections with the staff. This experience not only enriched my knowledge of surgical techniques but also honed my skills in patient care and professional collaboration.
