I worked in the Control Systems group at GE Aviation, designing, testing, and Certifying software that runs aircraft engines. I was also an Export tagger within GE, expert in Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC)-related material. As a Lead Engineer working in the Control Systems group, I continued to focus on the design and testing of engine control software for Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) systems for helicopter engines. My responsibilities included interfacing with both internal and external customers, as well as ownership of the design and testing of engine software for a demonstration engine.

In the Controls Systems group, I focused on the design and testing of engine control software for the on-board Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) systems for helicopter engines. In this role, I participated in design reviews of proposed logic for engine software, and presented my own proposals for review. I performed functional and fault-tolerance testing on engine software, the results of which were used to certify the software with the FAA. I co-authored multiple FAA-Certification test plans and results reports to the DO-178B standard. I also trained and served as an Export tagger, specializing in the classification (USML or CCL) of FADEC-related material.Previously (June 2007-Jan 2011), I was a design engineer in the External Configurations group, performing design and analysis for the external tubing and support brackets on various engines. In that function, I worked to develop or improve the design of the external tubing on multiple engine types and sizes, sometimes on international teams. This involved routing the tubing and support brackets within the digital engine model using Unigraphics NX and finite-element analysis of the proposed designs to meet the minimum durability requirements given the operating environment, as set by best practices. I also worked with external vendors to define the specifications for electrical cabling that connected the electronic components of the engine.
As an intern in the mechanical engineering group, I helped review technical specifications and drawings for ongoing projects both with supervision and independently.
