- Community Based Employment Services (CBES) is offered to Veterans who meet criteria for VA Psychosocial Rehabilitation services, who need more intensive support than Vocational Assistance, and who have a desire to immediately return to competitive employment in their local communities. - CBES provides vocational rehabilitation supports to Veterans who have a history of sporadic employment, difficulty maintaining a job, difficulty initiating and following through on their job search, or are unable to obtain competitive work independently. - CBES Case Management and Program Management includes:- Providing individual, flexible vocational supports designed for each Veteran based on their strengths, interests and support needs. - Providing a variety of community-based employment supports with a goal of direct placement in competitive employment.- Providing a range of services includes assistance with job development to more intensive supported employment services.- Assisting Veterans to secure and maintain competitive employment by providing on-going clinical support to promote job retention. - Initiating vocational supports that are tailored to each Veteran providing a level of support necessary for successful employment. - Ensure the following CBES principles are provided to the Veteran: Zero Exclusion, Integration (with the Veteran’s treatment team), Competitive Employment, Benefits Counseling (VA, SSI, SSDI), Rapid Job Search, Systematic Job Development, Follow-along Supports, and Highly Individualized Worker Preferences for Service Delivery (through Vocational Assessment Profile – A Person Centered Approach, Incorporating Life Experiences, Skills and Preferences; Motivational Interviewing Techniques and Ongoing Work-based Assessment in Real Jobs).

- Veteran employment representative for the U.S. Department of Veterans' Affairs, Heartland West.- Serves as a liaison or advocate to local employers and community providers for employment placement and supportive services for homeless veterans.- Acts as an advocate on behalf of Veterans with members of the employment collaborative and community employers; conducts job development and job placements- Provides pre-employment assessment, case management, and workforce re-entry planning services.

- Assists veterans and disabled veterans who have significant barriers to employment become job ready through assessments, local case management, workshops, counseling, coaching, mentoring, and training.- Provides guidance and direction to veterans on career goals, resume writing, job searching, and interviewing.- Conducts veteran outreach in seven mid-Missouri counties (Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cooper, Howard, Monroe, and Randolph).

- Inspects and supervises educational institutions and business establishments in accordance with applicable State and Federal Statutes and State Approving Agency (SAA) standards for the purpose of recommending approval or disapproval, amendments to approvals, withdrawal of approval, and continued approval of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) education and OJT benefits for veterans.- Advises or assists veterans with VA education and training benefits and programs, such as GI Bill, OJT, Voc Rehab, or Troops to Teachers.

- Helps veterans and disabled veterans transition to civilian employment through counseling, training, coaching, and mentoring.

- Assisted students with Title IV federal grants and loans, local scholarship programs, and VA GI Bill programs, this includes processing FAFSA requests, prescreening students, and developing award letters & enrollment agreements.

- Retired Air Force veteran with over 16 years of military experience in Human Resources, Education Services, Training Management, and Personnel Programs. - As a key member of the commander’s staff, I managed career development, formal training, reoccurring training, and automated / paper-based training record requirements for 200 to 2000 military and civilian employees depending on the location. I enforced regulatory compliance through inspections, staff assistance visits, and training; this included teaching “Train the Trainer” and Professional Development courses to assigned supervisors, trainers, and certifiers.

- Installed and spliced aerial, underground, and buried copper, co-ax, and fiber optic cable systems in many government facilities and installations in California and Nevada. Experienced with all types of splicing equipment, testing equipment, cable air dryers, gas detectors, and line or bucket trucks.
