I intend to declare an English major at UC Berkeley, hoping to pursue a career as a professor, lawyer, or publisher after college. Over the years I have worked extensively as a private tutor for both music and academics, most commonly being employed as either an English tutor or trombone instructor. I have garnered various accomplishments both academically and musically. I have played trombone and other instruments such as trumpet, piano, baritone, euphonium, and tuba since the eighth grade. I have held leadership positions in various ensembles, most notably having been a section leader in the Ruth Asawa School of the Arts Symphonic Band and Wind ensemble, RASOTA Jazz Band, RASOTA Latin Band, and the SF All-City band for multiple years. I have also participated in ensembles at the All-State level, and was nominated to participate in the CMEA Bay-Section ensemble. Academically, I have taken 9 AP classes throughout high school whilst maintaining a 3.99 unweighted GPA, and currently have a 4.22 weighted GPA, placing me at rank 11 out of roughly 550 students. I have received a score of 5 on the AP Statistics, AP Psychology, AP Modern World History, and AP United States history Exams. I scored a 1310 on my SAT with an English subscore of 710, and a math subscore of 600. My interests are centered around the art of creation, and I enjoy making music and writing stories in my free time. Creative Writing and literature are integral to my life, and I often find myself delving into classical literature or writing poetry during downtime.
