Machine Shop Foreman
CurrentDuties• Machine, maintain and refurbish the roll stand tackle, e.g. Guide Rolls, Funnels, entry and exit Guides.• Jobbing shop service to the Engineering workshops.• Job set-ups on the Lathes and Milling machines.• Ordering and inventory control of tools, tooling and spares. Separating the Roll shop and Mills equipment.• Maintenance of the Roll Shop equipment.• Planning of Roll Shop work.• Respond to Call outs.• Fitting of Mechanical parts as required.• Training of team members in a safe workmanlike habits and skilling.• Inspect and ensuring quality of work.• Record Keeping.• Run small projects.• Programming of the Dainichi Lathe.• Keep stock of Rolls.• Facilitate in a Library.• Facilitate in cost control.• Manage/Create the Team.• Achieving demanding goals and deadlines.• Work overtime and Weekends where required.• Do rigging as required.• OHSACT – Manage safe working conditions.. S.H.E - rep• Create a safety culture through toolbox talks.• Do ADHOC work as needed.• Collaborate with Shift teams.• Use initiative & experience to add value to work.• Anything else within reason.• First aid co-ordinator.
