I am currently an undergraduate Psychology student in my final year. From 2019 to 2020, I took a placement year and worked for Leeds Survivor Led Crisis Support, a mental health charity, working with people in crisis and in need of support alternative to the medical model. During this time I developed a catalogue of skills, including networking, communication, organisation and reliability. From January of 2020, I have also worked a part-time job in the food and drink industry, being part of the front of house team. I have continued to work throughout the coronavirus pandemic when we have been allowed to be open and this has presented many situations for professional development. Working with the public so closely, especially during the pandemic, has developed my interpersonal skills incredibly and has taught me great flexibility whilst continuing to work alongside my degree.
