I am currently working with Regional Development Managers of West and Central Africa, Europe and Middle East and Northern Africa to help further or develop a working relationship with the donors in the region. This will lead to diminishing duplication, possibly collaborating on initiatives that are positive for all parties and providing sustainable support that leads to results. I look forward to working with my colleagues and with these regions to accomplish the goals they have established. As part of the Capacity Building Directorate I was the Regional Development Manager for the Americas and Caribbean (2007-2013) during which time I worked with the region to increase participation, deliver results, especially modernization, and collaborate with the donors. I Have done several diagnostics in the Americas region (as well as in East and Southern Africa) and have worked with a few administrations on the development of their AEO programs. Currently working on raising awareness of donors regarding the accomplishments in the region.I have also provided support to Ms. Lozano in her development of the Project Map since it's inception. This map will be used as a tool to assist administrations in the development of projects and also provide donors on much needed information to prevent duplication.

Started my Customs career at LAX in 1990 as a customs inspector. I worked on the Rover Passenger Team, looking for narcotics on passengers, then worked on the Contraband Enforcement Team (CET) before being promoted to Senior Inspector and then Supervisor. I have, as supervisor, been one of three supervisors leading the CET team, was then supervisor over training for LAX and would work overtime as supervisor in passenger operations. After September 11, 2001,while still assigned at LAX, I was selected as one of ten validators (predecessor to today's supply chain security specialists) in 2002 and worked with C-TPAT on validations up until I was promoted and moved to work in HQ on the CTPAT Program. While in HQ was the program manager over the validations helped to create the SSCS positions, managed up to 80 officers traveling on validations from our different ports to different countries. As the program manager had to help answer questions to GAO over the program, had to confer with attaches overseas and gain their approval for our officers to visit the various sites. I helped to develop the course for the SSCS and was one of the facilitators for the course. Selected for a secondment at the WCO in March 2006 and moved to Brussels in August 2006.
