Recent graduate a MArch at the University of Edinburgh, for which a distinction was awarded. My final year MA work specialised in the notions of ‘care’ and designing in response to community values and ‘careful’ methods that challenge top down processes. Materially, I have also been specialising in earth construction and the development of wider reuse processes and material harvesting for use in circular economies. This year I took on a live build project for a local community group and worked with them to develop a thesis that is in line with their existing identity and social ambitions.I have attained a BSc Hons in Architecture from the University of Bath. I achieved a high 2:1 as well as 12 months Part 1 PEDR experience, of which the most recent period was spent with Stride Treglown as a Part 1 Architectural Assistant. I have worked on various RIBA stages in a range of sectors. Most recently, I have worked on large healthcare projects, contributing to both masterplanning and architectural design for the new government hospitals program. I was able to see some designs progress through SOC & OBC approval gateways towards FBC status. My experience covers a large range of clinical design across various healthcare departments including theatre, imaging, wards, treatment and paediatric care. Other experience includes a wealth of residential work. My studies have also allowed me to explore designs for larger public buildings including the conversion of the IRT Powerhouse, New York and the design for a homeless trauma-relief centre.My final undergraduate design project was called 'Lumen Incarnatus' and explored the design for a retreat centre for the blind and visually impaired. I also completed the Ted Happold project with a group of Architecture and Civil Engineering students in which we designed a Migration Museum in the heart of Kings Cross London which conceptually embodied the ideas of 'Kaleidoscope.'In 2019 I won the LOM Karla Roman Travel Bursary and went to Japan to study culture and architecture.Passionate about people, I believe in architecture for humanity and wish to explore the role that architecture can have in achieving social justice.
