London-based documentary filmmaker. National Geographic Storytelling Fellow, Sundance Film Festival alumni, graduate of the Directing Documentary MA, National Film & Television School (2015).I am a warm, open and collaborative film maker with a passion for pushing the conventions of the documentary form and telling real stories in immersive ways for a wide audience. My short films have screened at over fifty festivals internationally including Sundance, Edinburgh Film Festival, Cinema du Reel, Dok Leipzig, True/False Film Festival & Hot Docs, where ‘Territory’ won the Oscar-qualifying award for Best Short Documentary. I have also made films for Channel 4 Random Acts, Just So/ New York Times Op Docs, and had my work featured on Nowness, Vimeo Staff Picks & Aeon Video. I direct, shoot and edit documentary films to brief for arts and cultural organisations, including the Barbican, Faber & Faber, Southbank Centre, Dance East, the Economist, London Design Festival, & Kent Mining Museum. I have also directed short documentaries for Channel 4 News, and worked as a cameraperson on BBC productions.In 2020 I co-founded documentary film makers collective CatBird. I regularly teach filmmaking and have led documentary filmmaking courses, including the Summer Docs short documentary course at the NFTS.Prior to my film making career I lived in Italy and France teaching English as a Foreign Language. I am fluent in French and Spanish and proficient in Italian.
