I started work with a position at Raley's in Rohnert Park, California. It was only for a summer, but it paid for my study abroad trip to Kingston upon Hull, England, UK, where I took Dutch, American Politics, and American History. I was going to school at the time at Central Washington University, where I graduated with a BS in Information Technology and Administrative Management with a specialization in Web Development and Database Design. Unfortunately, they were training us to be managers of those departments, so almost everything I know about the inner workings of tech came from experience after school.Out of college, I worked at Starbucks for a couple months before getting a job at Sonic.net in Santa Rosa, CA where I did Tech Support for 8 months, in which time I did over 5,000 tickets, before making a lateral move to Network Operations Provisioning where I was configuring routers, switches, phones, and setting up internet for business customers. I did that for a year and then moved on to working for Joann's Fabrics, Gamestop, and Starbucks for a while. I had a brief stint at Selerum and by brief, I mean about 2 weeks because the position was too long a drive for me. After that, I worked at Office Depot for a bit, before going back to Joann's Fabrics in 2020. Found a job doing Customer Support at First American, but had some mental issues after some events with the family and was forced to quit.I then worked as a CNC Programmer at North Coast Tile and Stone for 4 months, before getting another position with the company as an Estimator for countertops and such. Our office assistant quit suddenly and I was given her position on top of that, but the compensation did not match the amount of work I had, so I left in February 2022.After that, I found a fantastic Software Instrumentation Tech position at LGC Biosearch. I am very happy with it, but it is a temp position, so I need a backup in case I don't get hired full-time at the beginning of September. I started in March.For my personal life, I live in a two bed, two bath apartment with my Husband and my two cats: Althea and Artemis. I love to cook. I do all the finances for our family, while my husband cares for our small balcony garden where we grow Jalepenos, Shishito peppers, Cilantro, Chives, and a Marigold flower to keep pests away. My Husband works for the same company I do.
