I am currently undertaking an internship with Holy Trinity Hazlemere in social justice. As part of this internship I have worked with Wycombe Homeless Connection, a charity which supports homeless individuals and helps them to rebuild their lives. Through this I have gained a greater insight into the issue of homelessness and other issues that surround it such as addiction, unemployment and abuse. Further to this I have worked with Embrace the Middle East, a charity that seeks to help disadvantaged groups in Lebanon, Egypt, Israel and Palestine. This has enabled me to gain experience in using databases, trading, communications and fundraising, as well as general receptionist and administrative duties including liaising with supporters and suppliers, whilst giving me an insight into how a charity functions. Furthermore, I am currently employed by Embrace the Middle East in an administrative role.Owing to the voluntary nature of this internship I am also currently employed by MidCounties Co-operative, where I have worked as a cashier since January 2010. This has given me the opportunity to hone my interpersonal skills, as well as more practical skills such as organisation and time management.
