Ensuring shifts run smoothly and seamlessly, while managing team members and providing excellent customer service. Additional responsibilities include liaising with customers regarding large events (eg, birthdays, wakes, christenings), ensuring good communication between front and back of house and cashing up duties.

Being fun and engaging while taking orders and delivering food, requiring good organisation, friendliness and attention to detail. Making every effort to ensure each customer leaves not only feeling full, but happy, therefore giving attentive service and correcting any mistakes promptly. Additionally required to host and organise pizza making parties for children and adults, requiring a bubbly and engaging attitude, while delivering instructions and still making sure it is fun and interesting.

Supervising the checkout area and welcome desk, ensuring that there is an appropriate amount of staff depending on the need at the time. Organising break schedules and that all staff are treated respectfully and fairly. Additionally being aware of the cleanliness of the area, and understanding what other areas of the store are in need of staff or help. Working well in a team but also required to think independently while decision making especially when dealing with complaints and queries on the welcome desk.

Requiring skills such as patience, organisation and remaining positive and friendly despite many high stress situations. This can be applied into many job roles, such as by maintaining a cool head during unpleasant and difficult situations. Additionally working as a waitress requires you to understand sales and how to understand the customer in front of you and what it is that they require, even if it is not to your personal taste.

This role required flexibility in duties, from café; serving food and understanding till systems, in the reception; organising birthday parties, customer service issues and often dealing with deposits and payments in a safe manner, and party host. While hosting birthday parties it is vital that you are fun, energetic and organised while ensuring the customers are happy. This role also required liaising between parents and staff in a respectful and informative manner. Reception work required duties such as organising school visits in large groups, deposit payments and filing. Most of this was done over the phone, and on paper; however a new computer system had been designed to help alleviate this work, and I was required to learn - and teach others how to use this system.
