In this position I led a 20+ member team in meetings twice a week to work on sustainability initiatives at Georgia Tech such as:- Organizing a student proposal showcase of sustainability projects with over 500 attendees - Raising $11,000 from sponsors to fund the winning teams- Managing the funding and holding the student groups accountable to their proposed action items to ensure they met their project goals- Educating the student body on acceptable recycling habits/tips for leading more sustainable lifestyles through multiple modes, including social media, flyers and presentations or lectures- Hosting the inaugural Get Wasteless campaign in which 250 students challenged themselves and each other to reduce their waste for a week- Students received a zero-waste kit and received participation points for carrying around all landfill waste around with them in a gallon-sized bag for the duration of the week and for making other sustainable choices such as biking to class- The winning team received $1000 to donate to a charity of their choiceAdditionally, I serve as a facilitator between students, administration and faculty, frequently meeting with leaders involved with sustainability on campus. My main goal of this position was to help educate the student body on how they can lead more sustainable lifestyles, empower students to take on initiatives relating to sustainability and support them in their endeavors, and to provide a voice for the student body to the administration.

Grand Challenges is a selective program at Georgia Tech which begins freshman year as a living and learning community. Students form teams that tackle real world problems and work on tangible solutions.My team developed a trap designed for the invasive lionfish in the Florida Keys, which are detrimental to coral reef health, based on their biology and natural behaviors.
