As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Eleanor Cheng MD belongs to an internationally renowned organization of medical professionals within the eye care field. Eleanor Cheng MD also holds memberships with the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. A graduate of Northwestern University, Eleanor Cheng MD studied Art History and Biology and earned two Bachelor’s degrees in 1998. From there, she enrolled at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where she earned her Doctor of Medicine in 2003. While completing her education, Eleanor Cheng MD worked in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Illinois, Chicago Medical Center. As a Research Assistant, she studied eye cell cultures and compiled her findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Eleanor Cheng MD began her medical career as an ophthalmology resident at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. In 2007, she joined Corneal Associates of New Jersey as a fellow. Currently an Associate, she performs several different types of eye surgery, including corneal transplant, laser vision, and cataract procedures. In her leisure time, Eleanor Cheng MD enjoys reading, cooking, and spending quality time with her family. An avid runner, Eleanor Cheng MD maintains an active lifestyle.
