At the Overseas Guides Company, a lead generation and marketing arm of Smart Currency Exchange, we have been a trusted resource for overseas buyers for over ten years, helping would-be homeowners to purchase their dream home overseas safely and successfully. We are here to help with every aspect of the buying and relocating process: from the property search to the key pitfalls you can encounter during the buying process itself; to financial tips; removals recommendations and lifestyle advice from expats who have already navigated the journey themselves. During this time we have developed a trusted network of property and financial professionals and alongside helping members of the public we are also able to provide high quality leads to our established connections in the overseas industry. I began as a customer services executive, which involved using a consultative sales approach and Pareto training to close sales in order to hit targets, both weekly and quarterly. In less than a year, I have now become responsible for managing France, one of the company‘s highest grossing countries.

The below three jobs were all carried out at the same time. This meant I had to develop good time management skills and also allowed me to gain valuable experience working both under pressure and as part of a busy team. All three of these roles were customer facing and were the basis from which to improve my communication skills.

Bar and food service responsibilities, taking care of customers and general cleaning of the pub and restaurant area.

Responsible for dealing with customers, completing administrative tasks and also working on the telephone. The role allowed me to establish my telecommunication skills and also to develop commercial awareness by dealing with a number of different aspects of the business, from policyholders, to banking cheques and taking payments.

Part time job whilst at University. The role included: Front of house work and taking payments; stamping guests into the club; assisting with cloakroom duties; working with the street teem promoting the night; leaflet and ticket distribution.
