About John Barbieri

An Information Technology Manager, web application programmer and Network Administrator, my background is in commercial photography and art. Graphic design and page layout working with printing presses. I spent the most time in school around photography, Graphic Arts, and commercial art. Finally I concentrated heavily on photography. Photography is worth far more than a thousand words to me. Video, and voice even more so. I rolled that into a career of Information Technology by performing Network Administration for many small to medium size businesses in South Florida. This lead to building databases and desktop applications which eventually lead to web applications, SEO and social networking to gain attention on the internet. Today I work for a merchant services company for credit card processing. I oversee a network of about 30 computers complete with IP telephony and internal web based applications as well as externally accessible web applications that our sales force uses and a robust router/firewall with Intrusion prevention and far more. My focus these days is on database backed web applications using responsive layouts for smartphones and tablets with an eye on electronic payment transactions. Key payment and electronic interchange is a must in today's fast, good, cheap engagements.
