Volunteer research intern for the Risks to Adolescent Wellbeing Project that is being conducted at Macquarie University's Centre for Emotional Health under the direction of Distinguished Professor Ron Rapee. I am involved in the qualitative coding of a Five Minute Speech Sample, where I code the degree of caregiver expressed emotion towards their adolescent. The codes group dyads in terms of whether they score low, borderline or high on emotional over-involvement and critical subgroups as a measure of expressed emotion.

Research assistant for the School of Psychological Sciences at Macquarie University. I am currently working under the supervision of Dr Monique Crane on various longitudinal studies investigating human resilience, coping strategies, anxiety and mental health among military personnel. Specifically, the research focuses on the development and implementation of resilience training for the Australian Defence Force. The tasks I am responsible for include data entry, APA formatting and referencing, preliminary analyses, field survey administration, and the preparation of hair samples for cortisol analysis.

I was a mentor for a group of new interns, in which I provided training and assistance on the range of coding schemes used on the project.

Volunteer research intern for the Watch Me Grow Project (REAL Treatment project) at the Child Behaviour Research Clinic, which is being conducted under the supervision of Professor Mark Dadds. This is a longitudinal study investigating the development of Eye gaze in children with Autism and Callous-Unemotional traits and the impact of parenting on the prospective development of disorders of conduct, aggression and anti-social behaviour. I engage in a high level of human interactional coding and behavioural observation. This is very complex second-by-second coding of caregiver and infant interactions. I have also been involved in the systematic review process and data cleaning tasks. Throughout my involvement with the CBRC, I have received extensive CARE index training from PhD candidate, Janice Tang.

I was a co-investigator for a research project at Macquarie University’s Centre for Reading that is being conducted under the direction of Distinguished Professor Anne Castles. This project is implementing eye-tracking technology to investigate the spacing effect that occurs when adults read novel embedded words. I completed this activity to meet the requirements of a PACE unit in the degree of Bachelor of Psychology in the School of Psychological Sciences under the supervision of Dr Signy Wegener. I was trained on how to operate the eye-tracker, and engaged in the data collection process, in which I was responsible for coordinating the experimental procedure using a participant pool of first- and second-year undergraduate psychology students at Macquarie University.

Part-time receptionist at MTHFR Support where I was required to use practice management software such as Cliniko, Asana and Acuity to keep record of confidential patient information and schedule appointments. I managed enquiries via phone and email, in which I was expected to uphold exceptional customer service. I was responsible for implementing the cancellation policy and consulting the practitioner waitlist to fill any gaps in their calendars. This role also involved taking payments over the phone and assisting patients in processing orders. I also engaged in supplement stocktakes to track product numbers in the clinic and in packing orders and taking them to the local post office to be shipped.

Part-time administrative assistant at PVET Institute. I was required to use AXcelerate software to store students’ information, assessment tasks and to track their progression in the course. I created invoices for course fees, scheduled driving lessons and took payments over the phone. Further, I was responsible for printing and binding course information booklets and assignments.

Part-time teacher at Reddam Early Learning School in Lindfield, NSW 2070. I was responsible for the care of very young children aged between 9 months and 5 years of age. I assisted the classrooms’ core teacher in improving young children’s literacy, communication and mathematical skills.

I tutored children from K-6 by assisting with homework and providing them extra educational activities to improve students reading, writing and mathematical ability.

Dance instructor at Dance 102 Performing Arts located in St Leonard’s, NSW 2065. I taught children aged between 4 and 12 a range of styles including jazz, baby ballet and technique classes.
