I have spent more than forty years in the dental profession. I feel I have helped many people better understand the importance of maintaining their oral health and keeping their teeth. I find that education and disease prevention are key to oral health. I had, however, decided it was time to let those I have spent years helping to educate carry the baton of oral health education. Just when I could see retirement on the horizon, I was lured back into dental education, helping to train future RDHAPs. So happy to have the opportunity to share the knowledge of many qualified clinicians as we work together to improve the oral health of our neighbors.I also started a web-based business called RDHAP Connect. This type of care can consist of oral cancer examinations, oral hygiene instruction for care givers and family members, preventive dental hygiene care, and periodontal therapy for the dentally underserved population. Services include consulting with dentists and physicians in order to provide therapeutic and palliative care for this population.

Along with my colleagues at Carrington College, we have taken our annual needle recapping screening to our colleagues, turning it into a hand-on continuing education course. We always learn something from the experience. Until Summer of 2015, I facilitate a continuing education course titled Radiation Safety for Allied Dental Professionals. Taught three times throughout the year, this course allows me to travel to the dental school in San Francisco and work with my dental colleague, teaching the the allied dental professionals to safely take diagnostic x-rays.
