As a volunteer research assistant in the Center for Fetal Therapy, I conduct retrospective medical chart review to assess outcomes for monochorionic pregnancies complicated by Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence, Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion, and Selective Intrauterine Growth Restriction based on the fetal treatments they received. I also assist with outreach to monochorionic pregnancy mothers to assess the children’s current developmental milestones, medical complications, and other resulting issues, and prepare manuscripts and presentations based on our research findings.

As a clinical research coordinator, I coordinated a phase I and phase III clinical trial on a subcutaneous administration of Ocrevus and coordinated a phase I clinical trial on a symptomatic treatment for spasticity in Multiple Sclerosis patients. I also managed and contributed to a database containing a wealth of information on Stiff Person Syndrome, a rare neurological condition. My responsibilities included screening medical records, consenting participants, running clinic visits, shadowing neurologists, collecting and shipping blood samples, organizing regulatory paperwork, assisting with processing and analyzing MRI data, data management, database design, and manuscript preparation.

As a research assistant in the lab of Dr. Christopher Potter, I collaborated in the study of global activation of olfactory receptor neurons via the protein ORCO in the Anopheles mosquito, thought to prevent the spread of malaria through the inability to cause a human bite. I utilized techniques including mini- and maxi prep, PCR, restriction digest, agarose gel electrophoresis, and spin column purification of recombinant DNA.

As captain of Jaywalk Dance Team, I scheduled and conducted practices, represented the team at student organization meetings, upheld the team constitution, and oversaw an executive board of 4 students. I worked closely with the other executive board members to plan a spring showcase performance, fundraisers, auditions for new members, and team social events.

As Events Student Coordinator for Undergraduate Admissions, I served as a member of the Events Board responsible for overseeing the development of appealing programming for prospective and accepted students of Johns Hopkins. I led a 6-person events board and 7-person events committee, working to plan on-campus and virtual events involving tours, information sessions, panels, class visits, fun activities, and more. I also served the office by participating in a variety of marketing programming and university presentations in order to convey the student experience at Johns Hopkins.

As a research intern, I supported a variety of research projects based on the changing needs of hospital physicians' projects:- Selection of Macrocephalic Infants for Imaging Investigation: Conducted a retrospective chart review using EPIC gathering data on a variety of covariates which may influence the likelihood that macrocephaly in childhood is indicative of a neurosurgical condition to eventually establish clinical guidelines for providers to opt for or against imaging investigations on a macrocephalic child- Impact of Emergency Dept.-based Pediatric Sexual Assault Clinical Pathway: Carried out a retrospective chart review using EPIC of sexual assault patients seen in the emergency department for evaluation of the success of the clinical pathway on changing vaccination rates for HPV and Hepatitis B- Standardization of Fluids in Inpatient Settings: Conducted an initial chart review within the electronic medical record system for qualifying and excluding patients with dehydration in this American Academy of Pediatrics study on standardizing IV fluid usage protocol for children with dehydration admitted to the hospital

As a temporary associate, I was responsible for managing, sorting, packing, and distributing holiday toy donations throughout the hospital during the holiday season. I observed proper safety protocols and developed a useful system of donation sorting to prepare for long-term item use by Child Life hospital staff.

As an intern in the Volunteer Services office, I managed 120 high school volunteers, coordinated scheduling with volunteer supervisors, planned a flash mob for patient entertainment, and organized a fundraiser to benefit the hospital Auxiliary.

As VP of Member Education and Programming, I oversaw four appointed officers and held regular department meetings to assist and evaluate their efforts. I also implemented an engaging new member program, directed educational programming, d developed innovative sisterhood events and activities, and monitored chapter academic standing and member well-being.
