Responsibilities were mainly that of managing and budgeting the club funds as well as organizing events for club members to get exposure to the health field such as meeting/shadowing health care professionals and medical school preparation.

The aim of the research was to better understand the expression of the longevity gene within C. elegans. Research involved picking worms, autoclaving, PCR, primer design, PCR clean-up, restriction digest, agarose gel band extraction, ligation, transformation, and sterile plating. Actively aided in the development and execution of lab procedures and interpretation of results.

Met with two groups of ten students each week to reinforce the topics from course lectures, offer help with lab material, and introduce new ways to approach more challenging topics. Conducted engaging lessons to present material and promote involvement.
