After graduating in Spain, I moved to the UK where I started my career in anti-money laundering (AML). There, I honed my skills in financial crime prevention and transaction monitoring but more importantly, I discovered my passion for the industry. Intrigued by the constantly changing regulations and amazed by the fast-paced environment, I decided that was the industry for me. Fast forward some years, I seized an opportunity to move from the UK to Canada. Here, I built a growing team of AML badasses, develop policies and procedures, provide guidance on regulatory issues and liaise with regulators and auditors. I also I enjoy attending Canada’s top conferences and webinars. Somewhere along the line, I added the CAMS, CGSS and CFCS credentials after my name and took other interesting courses. I have an always-learning growth mindset even outside the industry - recently signed up for jewellery crafts classes. Love finding opportunities to push me outside of my comfort zone and use my out-of-the-box thinking to solve problems. My motto in life is “where there is a will, there is a way!”
