About Elena Delacy

As the Executive Director of American River Conservancy, I oversee the strategic direction, operations, and finances of a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing natural and cultural resources in the Sierra Nevada foothills. With over 20 years of experience in the organization, I have successfully led and implemented multiple projects that benefit the environment and the community. Some of my key achievements include developing and managing a local UC California Naturalist Certification Course, securing and executing over $15 million in land conservation, trail development, and watershed restoration projects, cultivating beneficial partnerships with funding agencies and stakeholders, and representing ARC's interests in regional water management groups and the region's land trust council. I have also leveraged my skills in geographic information systems, cartography, biological assessments, grant-writing, fundraising, major gift solicitation, and event planning to support ARC's mission and vision. I am passionate about ecological restoration, conservation education, and community engagement, and I strive to make a positive impact through my work.
