As a member of the University of New England's Writing Fellows Program, I collaborated with faculty and students in undergraduate courses. The goal of the WFP is to support and uplift student writing throughout the undergraduate student body of the university. I work one-on-one with students for major writing projects throughout the semester. Additionally, I lead in-class discussions on key components of the writing and revision processes.

As a member of the Byron Marine Ecology Lab undergraduate research team, I have contributed to a health survey of cultured blue mussels (Mytilus edulis) in the Gulf of Maine. This project involvement included sample collection in the field, preparation for tissue processing, histological processes such as tissue embedding, sectioning, and staining, and data analysis involving microscopy and digital analysis (ImageJ/Fiji). I have also contributed to projects on possible ecosystem services of kelp farms in the GoM, and working to detect the presence of a grazing Lacuna spp. on a farmed kelp population as a means of improving product quality.

Through the University of New England, I worked with the Center of Wildlife as a medical clinic volunteer. For the Fall 2021 semester, I provided on-site care for wildlife patients in the medical clinic through preparation and maintenance of indoor and outdoor enclosures, and by preparing meals for and feeding patients. During this time, I coordinated with interns, medical clinic apprentices, wildlife specialists, and fellow volunteers to ensure proper patient support. During this time, I learned about species-specific condition assessment and care needs for mammals, reptiles, and birds native to Maine.

As an Environmental Educator, I fostered learning of marine and environmental science topics for Seaside Safari and Trek-4-Tots Environmental Day Camps at the Seacoast Science Center. I collaborated with a team of educators, developing daily lesson plans to engage campers and inspire curiosity and enthusiasm about the natural world.
