Now is the time, more than ever, to rethink how businesses operate as they should seek ways to manage their people and boost morale. Human Resources professionals do that among other vital business functions. As a person who thrives on a good challenge, I find Human Resources Management (HRM) a profession and science that is quite intriguing as it encompasses many complex functions and people are its fuel and driving force that makes a business run. HR professionals bridge the gap between the employer and their people. During my bachelor studies in Economics, a professor ignited the spark in me to follow a career in HRM. I completed my BSc in Economics studies within 4 years and quickly went on to gear up on the science of managing human capital by receiving my MSc in Human Resources Management within one year. I landed an internship job at a large Greek group of companies and within three months I was given assignments in Payroll and Benefits Administration, Recruitment, Training and Development.This trust was gained through my hard work, dedication, a positive attitude and a motto I live by: I can and I will. I am a firm believer of work-life balance and that this empowers employee loyalty, engagement and performance.
