Category Manager
Along with a small team I launched Naturitas on the Italian market, working in bilingual cross-country teams. My role was intense, dynamic and varied, ranging from account management, to marketing, to purchasing, to handling products in the warehouse. Some examples of things I did daily include:➧ Defining product and category strategies, working across food & beverage, natural supplements, and cosmetics, with a strong focus on sustainability➧ Curating product selection, pricing and promotion, as well as vendors' brand image and visibility➧ Fostering positive relationships with 60+ accounts, negotiating prices and promotions➧ Analyzing market needs, sales and website data to optimize product assortment, pricing strategies, and marketing investment
World Explorer
An Indonesian businessman once told me that "Education is not always preparation for the future; education is life itself". South East Asia was my classroom.I traveled alone, experiencing the ups and down of being a solo woman on the road, and with others, learning to adapt to disparate travel (and living!) styles and make the most of all situations. I funded my travels entirely through my own savings.
Graduate Researcher
I rotated across business areas: online quantitative and on/offline qualitative research, client services and data products, and Omnibus research. Projects included brand tracking and strategy definition, audience segmentation and profiling, questionnaire design, and 24h turnaround research. Industries covered included: banking and insurance, governmental bodies, charities, and FMCG.Here are a few more details and lessons I learned in each area:Client Services/ Data Products:• Tool integration (BrandIndex and Profiles, from planning to monitoring through audience understanding). This one was very simple: I just really, really love statistics.• Data extraction, cross-analysis, interpretation and reporting (including direct reports to clients). The excitement in finding links among seemingly loose threads never fades.• Support across all client services functions and work across teams (client services, sales, data). I am most efficient when I have the opportunity to juggle many projects at once.Custom Qualitative: • Operations and admin (recruitment, emailing, research set up). Choose your research participants carefully to avoid spoiled findings.• Analysis and reporting. Pull all the threads until one consistent story flows on the page (or the slide), Custom Quantitative:• Operations and data checking. Some work is unexciting by nature, but you will always be be more productive with a smile on your face.• Reports' writing and updating. Explore data and story lines until you find the most effective way to present insights.Omnibus:• Project management of 24-hour turnaround surveys, from design through scripting to results delivery, working in a team of 30+ people. Collaboration is much more effective than unhealthy competition at delivering a fast and accurate end product.
Market Research Intern
At RFR International I honed my project management skills in a work setting and explored market research methodologies, including offline and online methods. I contributed to research projects and shadowed the company's director in daily client management. My tasks included: • Drafting and revising questionnaires• Data mining and organization: downloading, filtering, and entering data for a panel of 3,000+ • Translating and adapting material for the Italian market• Setting up presentations and other material for promotional use• Web audits of the organization's online presence
Orientation Leader
As an orientation leader for JCU, I worked both in teams, coordinating with 15-20 coworkers, and alone, managing and leading groups of 20+ people of different nationalities. This allowed me to hone my team-working, leadership, customer care, organization and communication skills.I was new students' point of reference and sought to prevent potential issues and solve their everyday needs. Our goal as a team and mine as a group leader was to provide students with a seamless experience of the city, university and JCU brand. I created a positive, fun and safe environment favouring socialization and cultural exchange.
Marketing Student Assistant
Through this role I came to know and love the world of marketing and began to define myself as a bilingual professional. My tasks included:• Writing, translating, and editing blog posts, including original pieces and interviews• Leading campus tours and open houses in both English and Italian• Web audits of the university's online presence• Partnership research, looking into potential agreements between John Cabot and Italian-American organizations in the United States• Social media management (Instagram and Facebook channels)• Customer service, including promoting interaction among current, incoming and/or potential students and answering their questions and concerns• Training new assistants
