Urban LIFE | Urban Liveability & Innovation For Everyone was born as the professional practice of the research unit SUP&R, to develop applied research for integrated urban planning and design strategies. The company mostly works as a consultant for the public sector, helping public administrations to participate to European, national and regional calls for funding on urban projects. Among other projects, Urban LIFE is currently working on the masterplan for the green areas around the historical walls of Siena, developing a strategy for a new accessible urban park.

Thesis title: Interactive Landscapes. Cyborg choreographies for public open spaceThe research investigated the various degrees of hybridization between design solutions of landscape architecture - by its very nature activator of relations between human and non-human, organic and inorganic, biological and machinic intelligences - and the sphere of digital information technologies, seen both as logical-computational tools capable of holding together the dynamic complexity of the conditions in which the project operates, and as devices of almost ‘prosthetic’ character that accompany everyday experience of human bodies in urban space.In the attempt to go beyond the rhetoric on dematerialisation of the contemporary discourse on the digital transition, the research tries to explore how it is possible to design urban space for bodies hybridized with technologies (e.g. with new sensorialities), which might be inputs for interaction and what are the possible innovations of design categories for the urban landscape.
