I am a professional translator, graduated with full marks from the University of Bologna in Specialised Translation (International M.A.). My language combinations are EN<>IT and FR>IT.I have recently left my position of in-house academic translator and terminologist at Dialexy to become a full-time freelancer, and widen my areas of expertise to more creative fields, such as cultural events, art and museum exhibitions, cinema and the audio-visual industry.As a trained language specialist, I am able to professionally translate and revise texts and multimedia/audio-visual products in a variety of highly specialised domains, including technical, commercial and multimedia communication and the publishing industry. I am proficient in the use of CAT tools and have received extensive training in post-editing machine translation, revision tools and subtitling software. I was one of the first students in Italy to study Software and Video Game Localization as an academic module, which I passed with excellent marks. I am a member of the Open Translation Project of TED, for which I have subtitled talks in a number of topics, and a volunteer translator for the Translation Commons – a platform matching non-profit organisations and volunteer translators across the world – which is maintained by The Rosetta Foundation and Translators Without Borders.I also have experience working as a private tutor, providing young and adult learners with individual tutoring sessions both in English, Italian and other subjects. I can speak and understand Portuguese at a basic level, and have a basic understanding of Spanish.
