Growing up I loved playing video games (still do!) and exploring about technological advancements through Tech-YouTubers. With time, I started tinkering with computers and operating systems.The first time I booted into Ubuntu after spending hours watching tutorials and installing it, I felt an excitement that would push me to switch between different operating systems every few weeks. I just never felt settled. I loved exploring new features and workflows. This love to explore is the core component in my desire to pursue a career in computer science.To flourish in the field that I so chose, I needed experience. So, I applied at the XFCE organization in Google's Summer of Code 2022 program. Lo and behold, I got it! My first experience as a developer awaited me. One of my tasks involved designing and implementing user profiles for a terminal emulator application.Overall, It was a blast working with my mentor and other developers there and I will continue contributing to them.Finally, as a third year computer science student, I am seeking internship opportunities to firmly establish a foundation to my career in tech.
