Process Lead – Materials Handling – (a/k/a Shift Supervisor) Holds ultimate responsibility for operation of equipment and delivery of material from a department. Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, development and coaching, performance review, planning for continuous improvement within his department, and input to the budgeting process; at all times supporting the LEAN manufacturing process, quality and safety:• Participates in interview and selection process; collaborates with team members to select candidates;• Develops and coaches department individuals, supporting process, operational objectives, strategic goals, and individual’s career goals;• Partners with Process Leads of other departments and Process Technicians to plan and manage cross-training programs; has responsibility for final approval of these programs;• Develops and manages staffing schedules; at management level communicates shift status and goals in shift turnover.

Organize, coordinate, and schedule 6 employees in printing activities for a wide range of direct mail applications for this service bureau with sales revenues of $10 million.• Provide on-the-job training; evaluate and document individual operator performance;• Work closely with customer services to assess and meet customer specifications;• Select appropriate production platform per job specifications, set up printers, and maintain equipment in accordance with job requirements;• Work with equipment and third-party maintenance vendors to evaluate, procure and install 9 new printers; upgraded/replaced and increased total equipment roster from 3 to 7;• Negotiated third-party maintenance contracts leveraged to have 2 printers at no lease cost or monthly maintenance (click charge only); with an overall 15% reduction in monthly maintenance fees and clicks, resulting in a $73,000 yearly savings;•Work directly with USPS on daily basis preparing and submitting mail statements;• Work directly with consolidating party for BMC mail distribution.• Work directly with warehouse staff to organize and store completed mail until client’s mail date;• Work with management and USPS to create guidelines for optional procedures.• Train production staff in accordance with USPS optional procedure guidelines

• Responsible in running three Oce/Seimens printers in a highly charged production environment;• Activities included job set up, samples produced in accordance with on-sight customer representatives, set-up pre/post printer feeders, physically producing imaged products, job and printer record keeping and shop/workstation clean-up.
