 NURITELECOMThe NURITELECOM is a remote meter reading company with advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) products. It is a company that provides products by bidding for utility companies that provide electricity, gas and water services. The NURITELECOM has three product lines: a modem interface unit (MIU) that communicates with meters, a data concentrator unit (DCU) that collects data from modems, and a head-end system (HES) to store data from modems or concentrators in the database and manage customers, meters, modems and concentrators, and metering statistics. HEAD-END SYSTEM (HES)The HES consists of the front-end web application and the back-end application. The front-end manages customers, meters, modems, concentrators, and tariffs and provides statistics using collected meter data. The back-end application provides two-way communication with modems, concentrators, and meters to store meter data and calculate billing using meter data. My ROLEI played a role in managing all processes from analyzing, designing, developing and deploying the HES requirements of utility companies. Also, I developed a back-end that analyzes and stores meter data and communicates with meters. ACHIEVEMENTSMy notable achievement is the next generation HES developed in 2010. The problems of the previous HES were a variety of problems, including message queue processing, data processing performance, complex structures to develop the requirements of various utilities, communication performance problems, and limits of scalability and extensibility. Using this platform, the billing energy management system was created, and since 2011, it has been supplied to all utility companies overseas and in Korea.In particular, there were changes in the Norway project in 2016. The security based on certificate and TLS/DTLS was applied and Multispeak (US Standard), already applied to the Iraq project, was used to interface with Elin Central System. Then, there was a structural change to process a million meters of data in an hour. Message queues were changed to Kafka to cluster and backup and recovery features were applied to prevent data loss. CoAP is applied for communication with IoT and M2M equipment. My team and I passed the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) 1 in late 2016 and SAT 2 and 3 in early 2017 at BKK in Bergen, Norway.
