I was a major contributor to two projects that involved taking a legacy Java application and rewriting them in a new tech stack. I worked on these projects from Jan 2020 - Aug 2020, after which I switched to a part-time position.The stack that the legacy applications were written in is as follows:- Frontend: React.js and Redux- Backend: Python, Django backend running on an nginx server, containerized using Docker.- DB: PostgreSQL, later ported to MSSQLThe majority of development work I completed was front-end, but I also did some back-end work including:- Implemented the latest styling of the GCWeb theme- Cleaned up unused web assets, reducing repository size to <20mb- Ported postgreSQL configuration to MSSQL on Docker container- Created a PowerShell script to convert java resource files to .json format, allowing automatic usage of localised string from legacy application____I started working in a part-time position from Sep 2020 - Apr 2021 on Project ThunderCAT. This is an open source project involving a similar tech stack as mentioned previously. While working on ThunderCAT, I have completed several frontend changes to improve the general accessibility of the app

I worked as a teaching assistant for COMP 2501 (Game Development Year 2) under Dr. David Mould. During this period, I supervised a 1.5 hour weekly tutorial, where I answered questions and assisted students in learning OpenGL in a 2D context using C++. In addition, I also created and graded a pathfinding assignment that had students convert Djikstra's algorithm to A*.
