Performed work as a paid Research Assistant over the Summer of 2024 under Associate Professor of Carbonate Sedimentology and Geochemistry Linda Kah. Tasks included sorting and organizing of stored field samples, cataloging Ordovician microfossils in carbonate rocks with thin section petrography, and analyzing herringbone carbonate fabrics in calcite under SEM. Additionally, with an undergraduate student partner, we analyzed an irregularly branching stromatolitic bioherm from the Chhattisgarh Basin, India to characterize its growth patterns and depositional environment. This research was compiled into a poster and presented at GSA Connects 2024 in Anaheim, CA.
