Hi, I’m Eli! 👋I am currently a computational biologist and the head of sequencing at Hexagon Bio where I’ve built teams, lab processes and data pipelines to sequence and mine fungal genomes, screen for the genetic targets of compounds, and identify gene cluster products in tandem LCMS data. In past lives I also developed Ginkgo Bioworks’ first automated plasmid assembly pipeline, analyzed malarial parasite genomes at the Broad Institute and Harvard School of Public Health, engineered cyanobacteria to go to space at NASA Ames Research Station and assembled bacterial genomes from the gut microbiome at the Stanford School of Medicine. I know how to produce results and present them to research teams, boardrooms and lay audiences. Great collaborator, decent mechanic, lackluster fisherman.
