About Eli Muchtar

Expert in plasma cell disorders and chronic lymphocytic leukemiaDr. Eli Muchtar is an associate professor in the Division of Hematology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota where he has been working since 2015.Dr. Muchtar is a graduate of Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel where he received his M.D. degree summa cum laude in 2009. He did his residency training at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva, Israel and then proceeded to a three-year hematology fellowship at the same hospital.In 2015 Dr. Muchtar was invited to work at the world famous Mayo Clinic as a research fellow. Since then he has advanced in the ranks to assistant professor of medicine and now associate professor of medicine.Dr. Muchtar's research focuses on plasma cell disorder and particularly amyloidosis syndromes. He has devoted most of his time for clinically-oriented research on AL amyloidosis and published numerous original articles and review articles in the field. Dr. Muchtar has demonstrated a great passion for research and for care for patients with amyloidosis. He is committed to increasing awareness for amyloidosis to improve early disease recognition.
