I love working with a range of directors from first time directors, like Jonathan Karsh, “My Flesh and Blood,” winner of the Audience Award at Sundance Film Festival and Emmy winner for Best Documentary and Best Editing for HBO Films, to seasoned Oscar winning director Bill Couturié, for whom I edited his upcoming feature documentary “Saving Eden".My extensive experience reaches into the feature film, documentary, non-fiction broadcast, and commercial realms. Documentary subjects have covered the gamut, from Earth’s impending species collapse (“Saving Eden”) to a history of San Francisco comedy and profiles of 3 ‘comedy survivors’ (“3 Still Standing”).In 2014, I made my directorial debut when I co-directed and edited “Stories From Tohoku” about the courage and strength of the survivors of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. “Tohoku” won a Jury Prize at the 2014 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and was featured on PBS. Also in 2014, I worked with director Nickolas Rossi on his directorial debut “Heaven Adores You”, a documentary on singer Elliott Smith. HAY premiered at San Francisco International Film Festival before making an international festival tour and finding worldwide distribution with Eagle Rock Entertainment. Current projects include "Hi, I'm Nancy Rubin" by director Jennifer Steinman. "Rubin" aired on HBO Max in fall of 2022. In 2023, with editor Ken Schneider, I cut the historical documentary "Shaking It Up: The Life & Times of Liz Carpenter" about the groundbreaking journalist, feminist and press secretary to Lady Bird Johnson. Directed and produced by Abby Ginzberg, and Liz's daughter Christy Carpenter, the documentary premiered at SXSW in March, 2024. Also in 2024, I worked on "The Well" - a true crime series, currently in post production.Other non-fiction television credits include “Sam Cooke: Crossing Over” for PBS’ American Masters, “Amelia Earhart” and “The Boston Strangler” for National Geographic, “True Life” for MTV, “Sports Wives” for A&E, and “Rocket Dogs” for Animal Planet.
