The Asian American Student Academic Program (AASAP) develops and implements academic support initiatives for the UIC Asian American student population to enhance transition from high school, assists students in acclimating to college learning strategies, and promotes access, academic achievement, social integration, persistence, and graduation of Asian American students.• Serve as an academic advisor for AASAP students through culturally conscious support for students at various stages of the academic journey through scheduled and informal meetings and monitoring of student progress through data and analysis of service usage and other metrics while providing timely and accurate documentation of student meetings using University software and referrals to appropriate resources.• Develop, facilitate, and assess educational workshops and activities related to the mission and goals of AASAP, including coordinating and teaching first-year seminar courses focusing on life skills, career development, and financial literacy, College Day programming, and coordinating the AASAP tutoring program.• Supervise, train, and develop AASAP tutors and graduate assistants.• Develop and implement tracking for alumni outreach.• Serve as liaison and representative to collaborate and present on behalf of AASAP with campus and community partners to enhance and sustain partnerships.
