Summer research project in department Experimental Radiation Oncology designed to evaluate the efficacy of a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, sunitinib, as a radiosensitizer of certain prostate cancer cell lines. Applied targeted therapy, such as radiotherapy to evaluate chemotherapeutic results. Carried out various clonogenic assays, flow cytometry, and western blot for further analysis. Applied Western blot analysis, protein extraction, clonogenic assay, tissue dissections, preparation of tissue slides, cellular examination, distillation, extraction, dehydration of compounds, recrystallization, spectrophotometry, and chromatography.
