Asking Different Questions: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Science (National Science Foundation)Development of cross-STEM curricular component to help graduate students address real-world, cultural complexities within their research context.

Designed mixed-methods surveys and qualitative interview guides and oversaw data collection related to a comprehensive multi-city study assessing the landscape of existing care benefits, including early childhood education & care, long-term services and supports, and paid family leave. Performed detailed analysis of survey and interview findings within and across cities and authored three city-specific reports and one final research report.

Organizational Constructions of a New Right (National Science Foundation)Conducted in-depth, qualitative interviews with multiple stakeholders including hospital administrators, grievance counselors, and other HR professionals to better understand the implementation of Section 1557 (ban on sex discrimination) in health care sites across the U.S.

NSF ADVANCE Institutional Transformation grant, “Attracting Latina Scholars to the Academy: Career Path Perceptions among Latino/as in STEM” The study is funded by the NSF as part of the ADVANCE Institutional Transformation grant awarded to UC Davis. The ADVANCE grant is designed to attract and facilitate the success of underrepresented female minority faculty in the STEM disciplines, with an emphasis on Latina faculty.

Project AFFIRM (National Institute of Health, R01)Worked cross-functionally with Columbia University and Emory University research teams. Conducted in-depth, qualitative interviews with transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals about their lived-experiences using the lifeline methodology. Identified key areas related to identity development, vulnerability, risk and resilience for trans* folks.

Project SHARe (National Institute of Health, R01)Worked cross-functionally with Emory University research team. Conducted in-depth, qualitative, dyadic interviews with LGBQ couples about their lived-experiences using the lifeline methodology to assess the impact of minority stress on the mental health and well-being of same-sex couples. Identified key areas of intervention for policy and social services to better support LGBQ couples and families.

Participated in survey design. Developed and created Qualtrics survey for web-based data collection. Developed and created a central project website for use across multiple (international) project sites. Assisted in curriculum analysis, literature reviews and conducted internet research.
