•Teach postgraduate-level course on Spatial Ecology, focusing on spatial pattern, spatial statistical analysis, ecosystem fragmentation, and species distribution modeling.•Developed course content emphasizing the application of remote sensing and geospatial tools (QGIS, R).•Guide students in analyzing real-world ecological datasets to explore spatial patterns and ecological processes.•Supervise student projects related to landscape analysis and environmental conservation.

•Analyzed caries disease using GLM and ANOVA in R to identify risk factors and compared prevalence between neighborhoods among a cohort of 20,000 6-year-old children. •Conducted a spatial analysis of caries distribution and performed caries indices maps using QGIS. •Collaborated in a dental health program. The goal was the evaluation of caries disease in children of 320 public schools in the city of Buenos Aires city which involved 30 researchers.•Communicated project results to the authorities of the city of Buenos Aires.

•Led the GIS and remote sensing team in the 'Biodiversity Loss Compensation' project for Environmental Impact Assessments in the province of Buenos Aires, the first of its kind in the country.•Designed a standardized methodology to quantify the ecological significance of the province, serving as a key input for calculating compensations.•Developed a reference map for use as a baseline in biodiversity assessments, with the aim of having a practical and easily applicable tool for the entire province.•Participated in the creation of a comprehensive instructional methodological guide, aimed at project proponents to calculate the final area for biodiversity compensation.•Organized and facilitated 4 workshops with the participation of over 30 scientific experts from various disciplines and technicians from the Ministry of Environment.•Presented the results to provincial authorities with very positive feedback. As a result, the proposed methodology was approved. The pilot testing is scheduled to take place during 2024.

•Led scientific project to evaluate the effects of land use on the ecology of 15 lakes at multiple scales.•Built a pipeline for image pre-processing including download, geometric and atmospheric correction, resample and subset.•Employed machine learning techniques to perform remote sensing data analysis and classification to carried out coverage maps of the areas around the shallow lakes. •Analyzed landscape structure and patterns. Calculated metrics and determine spatial heterogeneity and fragmentation. •Built a temporal series with optic images to determinate frequency of flooding and classified shallow lakes based on connectivity.

•Revised action plans for the protection and restoration projects of Ewaso Ng’iro North River in Kenya and Balkhash Lake in Kazakhstan) as part of the Freshwater Data Integration Project for Decision-making (International coordination for SDG 6.6.1.). The Action plans are expected to be implemented by national, basin and local stakeholders.

•Facilitated the workshop 'Integrating data to improve the protection and restoration of water ecosystems' as part of a pilot project by GWP and Cap-Net UNDP, with the support of UNEP and UNDP. The workshop aimed to enhance capacity development, stakeholder engagement, and action planning in three countries to accelerate the restoration and protection of freshwater ecosystems. In total, 250 professionals were trained on freshwater ecosystem management, and 130 decision-makers attended awareness-raising activities in the countries

•Identified vegetation patterns of coastal wetland using high spatial resolution imagery. •Characterized and analyzed spectral signatures of plant marshes using hyperspectral data (field radiometry). The spectral signatures were included in the National Commission on Space Activities (CONAE) Spectral Signatures Library.•Evaluated plant communities as potential environmental indicators in a context of global climate change.

Prepared an inventory of wetland regions in Argentina for the "Management of Aquatic Ecosystems" project under the Framework Program for the Sustainable Management of Water Resources in the Plata Basin.
